The Bunkpurugu-Nakpanduri district has experienced recurring inter-ethnic conflicts between the Bimoba and Konkomba communities, resulting in loss of life, displacement, and destruction of property. The conflicts are rooted in historical land disputes and political competition.

Youth Peace Workshop Series - Tamale

Urban youth in Tamale face unique conflict challenges including political violence during elections, ethnic tensions in cosmopolitan neighbourhoods, and gang-related disputes. The Youth Peace Workshop Series was designed to equip young people aged 15-25 with conflict resolution skills relevant to their urban context.

Dagbon Chieftaincy Peace Process

Yendi, Northern Region

The Dagbon chieftaincy dispute, one of the most protracted conflicts in Ghana's history, has its roots in succession disagreements between the Abudu and Andani royal gates dating back to the early 20th century. The conflict intensified with the assassination of Ya-Naa Yakubu Andani II in 2002, creating deep divisions within the Dagbon traditional area.
